Enforce current immigration law
Elizabeth Dole and some other senators have the right idea....asking the President to enforce CURRENT immigration laws NOW...
U.S. Senator Elizabeth Dole (R-North Carolina) is among a group of GOP senators calling on President Bush to demonstrate his support for securing the border with Mexico by agreeing to their multi-faceted immigration enforcement resolution.
The resolution sponsored by Dole and Senator Jeff Sessions (R-Alabama) asks the president to take immediate action on 13 immigration enforcement measures, including complying with the Secure Fence Act, which authorized 700 miles of fence to be built along the U.S.-Mexico border. (See earlier story) Only two miles of that fence have been built so far. The American people "need proof, not promises," says Dole.
Amen to that.
