...spanning the globe
From 'round the sphere...
An Arizona GOP congressman is introducing a bill that will put some Dems in a tight spot, as it essentially puts them between two constituencies. That being blacks and the pro-abortion crowd. The bill sex-selection and race-based abortions...which means a lot of Democrats would have to choose who they want to upset. Whatever will they do... My guess is that Nancy Pelosi makes sure it never gets out of committee...so they never have to go on record making that choice.
From the "Who didn't see this coming?" category, we find out that Obama's illegal alien aunt Zeituni Onyango will get to stay in the country yet another year while she fights deportation. She was ordered to leave the country way back in 2004...but has managed to live in taxpayer funded housing ever since. The judge ordered a second hearing NEXT February... Two-to-one by that time her application to stay gets approved when nobody's paying attention. It's good to know people in high places.
A Vermont House committee appoved and advanced a bill approving gay marriage in that state...making a vote by the full House likely later this week. The VT Senate has already approved it...leaving the GOP governor (and his promise to veto) the only thing in the way of gay marriage in that state.
We all knew this was going to happen, so it's nice to be proven correct...even though you hate what's happening. So what is it? Barney Frank and the gang on Captiol Hill have amended pending legislation to give the Secretary of the Treasury power to set compensation levels over ALL employees for ANY company that has taken ANY "capital investments" from the US government. Who doesn't think their next step will be companies that get tax breaks...then just any companies? Socialism here we come.
And, believe it or not, (OK, it's easy to believe), we now have yet ANOTHER Obama cabinet nominee who owed back taxes. This time it's HHS nominee Kathleen Sebelius...who had to go back and revise "unintentional errors" on tax returns going back to 2005. The total? More than $7,000 in taxes that didn't get paid...which she's now coughed up to make sure her nomination gets approved by the Senate.
