Economics and Politics
What Barney Frank Doesn't Want You To Know
The fact is most people don't understand basic economics. The Democrat Party, supported by the liberal media, has recently been advancing the canard that the current financial crisis is the fault of the Bush Administration and Republicans. And most polls indicate that the majority of Americans have accepted this story line. But what is real and what is simply political propaganda? read more »
What Part Of "Shall Not Be Infringed" Don't You Understand, Senator?
In her brief time in the national spotlight, Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin, if nothing else, has rejuvenated the debate in this country regarding certain fundamental values. Interestingly, not all of this stems directly from the candidate's spoken statements but rather from a number of comments made about her by her Democratic counterpart Senator Joseph Biden. read more »
Fight With Me, Fight!
The Democrats keep repeating the mantra that the financial crisis is the fault of the Bush Administration and Republicans. When is McCain going to hit back and lay this mess at the feet of those who created it and refused to do anything to control it? Bill O'Reilly ripped into Barney Frank, head of the House Financial Services Committee, last night for blaming everyone but himself and accepting no personal responsibility for this mess. read more »
Into The Heart Of Darkness, Part 1
Senator Barack Obama has captured the world's attention unlike almost any other political figure of the era in which we live. However, despite all the theatrics surrounding the candidate and the almost messianic adoration displayed on the part of his followers, very few can possibly tell you what he actually believes other than in "change", which, though sounding like everything you ever dreamed of, can actually consist of the stuff of nightmares. read more »

World's Gutter Governments To Sit In Judgment Over U.S. Human Rights Record
No one is perfect. As such, at times correction and admonition may need to be promulgated to set the ethically concerned back on the right path.
When issued by those adhering to the high standards to which they profess, such criticism can be looked upon as a helpful corrective to assist equals in living up to their potential. However, when such accusations are leveled or sustained by those with no intentions of living up to the standard themselves, the maligned should turn the tables against such dubious defamers and expose just who it is that undermines dignity, order, and liberty. read more »
The Truth - According to the "Mainstream Media"
Here's what I have learned from the American media:
1. Barack Obama should be the first black person elected to the presidency - that's good. It's destiny.
2. Barack Obama has plenty of experience to be president. His "community organizing" and less than 1 term in the Senate has thoroughly prepared him to be president despite his lack of foreign policy experience.
3. John McCain is going to die in the next 4 years. Count on it.
4. If John McCain is elected president, Sarah Palin is going to assume the office in the next 4 years. That's a catastrophe. read more »

National Zoo Exhibits Ethnic Favortism
On September 21, 2008, the National Zoo will be celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month.
Dedicated to the preservation of animals, is it really the place of zoological institutions to be fostering politically correct racial posturing? read more »
Phelps' Cult Veers Into Further Irrationality
To those of us whose vocations consist largely of commenting on the momentous trends and events going on all around us, it can be easy to fall for the delusion that ultimately the world itself orbits those of us observing it.
Fred Phelps of the Westboro Baptist Church has gained for himself and his congregation a degree of notoriety for his insistence that "God Hates Fags". read more »
China Agitates To Undermine American Liberties
It's bad enough that those living under the heal of tyranny have their God-given rights suppressed, but one expects to hear of this transpiring in less-developed countries that have never really known freedom to begin with. However, things have really gotten out of hand when those living in the United States have to fear for their livelihoods for speaking out against abridgements of liberty occurring overseas. read more »

Now that Senator Barack Obama has wrapped up the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, it's time for him to answer some questions about where he stands on the issues that are important to the American people. Here are my questions for the senator: read more »

Why, Exactly, are Gas Prices So High?
Recently our elected
representatives in Congress interrogated the heads of the major oil
companies (those evil corporations) and wanted to know why these
companies are making a profit for their stockholders. Of course, many of us are
stockholders either through our IRA's, our 401K's, or the stock market. But,
never mind that. "Big Oil" is the evil-doer and the cause for high
gas prices. Oh, really?

Sometimes War Is the Answer
Have you seen the bumper
sticker that reads, "War Is Not the Answer?". I saw one the other day
and thought to myself, "That's a nice sentiment but it is a simplistic,
ill-informed slogan". In truth, war sometimes is the answer. There are
many anti-war protest groups, many of them formed on American university
campuses, which continue to believe that war never changes anything and should
never be considered, regardless of the consequences of not waging war. There read more »
Maybe I'll Let You Own It, Just Don't Conceal It
He's just going to keep on drifting further and further to the Left. Obama in February:"I have no intention of taking away folks' guns.I think it's important for us to recognize
that we've got a tradition of handgun ownership and gun ownership
generally. And a lot of law-abiding citizens use it for hunting, for
sportsmanship, and for protecting their families."

John McCain and Me
In
1968, while serving as an interrogator with the USMC, I was assigned to
the 11th ITT (Interrogation/Translation Team), 3rd Marine Division at
the prisoner-of-war (PW) compound in DaNang, Republic of Vietnam. One
of dozens of interrogations I conducted during my 13-month tour of duty
was with a rather interesting NVA (North Vietnamese Army)
prisoner-of-war who provided some unusual information. As part of our read more »
