Majority of Americans believe government could go bankrupt
...what gave it away?
Whether it's bailoutapalooza, TARP this and that, or Obama's new deficit-ridden budgets that will double our national debt to almost 20 trillion dollars in the next decade, Americans are waking up to the fact that the bill is going to come due sooner or later..and that this government could go bankrupt when it does.
Fully 61 percent of Americans think it is possible the United States government could literally go bankrupt. That’s according to a new Fox News poll released Thursday.
But that's not to say that everyone suddenly has a overdose of common sense, given that 63% of respondents in the same poll say they think Obama's plans will "significantly help the country".
Talk about double-minded.
Unlike all of the failed businesses the the government has bailed out in the past year to keep them from going bankrupt, there's no "lender of last resort" to bailout our government - the ultimate "failed business".
The recent Tea Parties are evidence of American's growing realization of that fact. But we've obviously got a lot of work to do.
