Fred still on the sidelines

What's up with Fred? That's what a lot of people (from the press, to pundits, to supporters) are wondering. Over the weekend they forced out yet another staffer from the "non"-campaign and, according to the latest reports, seem to be backing off the earlier indication of being "in" in time to participate in the next debate, which would be September 5th. The Politico points this out, as well as Fred's attempt to low-ball the fundraising numbers on his next report.

Hmmm. Seems to me like you can only tease potential supporters (and the press) so long before you beging to annoy those you intend to woo. We'll see.
