O'Connor and judicial politics

Sandra D is speaking out again about how the oppositionn to judges has become too political. It would have been nice if she would have spent this much time worrying about keeping the politics out OF the judiciary, instead of worrying about political influence ON the judiciary.

The increased political attention to judges, their decisions and the appointment process could be said to have grown in almost direct proportion to their increasing lack of concern for the letter of the Constititution, increased legislating from the bench and generally short-circuiting the democratic/political process in our country.
