Those peace-loving Iranians announced Wednesday that they had successfully tested a new generation of surface-to-surface missile [3]...and the US confirmed that the test had indeed happened.
The Israelis were quick to point out the obvious and say that the test should aslo concern the folks in Europe, as this version is of a longer range variety. Their Deputy Foreign Minister put it this way: "We know that the Iranians are developing capabilities of thousands of kilometers, that could reach the coasts of the United States. ..."The Iranian clock is ticking fast and it must be stopped."
Meanwhile, Obama claims that we're going to get serious with Iran...that "Iran understands that we are serious"...while at the same time putting no time limit of Iran getting back to the negotiating table on stopping their attempts to develop nuclear weapons. To make things worse, Obama's defense budgets call for a reduction in development and deployment of missile defense systems [4]. And when you add the North Koreans with their recent ballistic missile launches and nuclear tests to the mix it lookd downright brilliant!
I'm sure the Iranians are really worried about how "serious" we are.
One has to wonder just how much longer the Israelis will wait before launching their own pre-emptive strike against Irans nuclear facilities...since they can be pretty sure that Obama won't.
