As reported, Barack Obama has made an announcement that he is now resigning his membership [4] at the ultra-controversial Trinity United Church of Christ of Chicago.
As I see it, this very late-in-the-game maneuver does nothing but put Obama and his supporters, both on your local street corner as well as the liberal media, in the worst of positions.
These supporters and mouth-pieces of Obama are once again put in the unenviable position of having to toss out every defense and justification they had previously memorized and verbalized in support of him maintaining his association with this loony left-wing outfit and not abandoning their numbers. They will now have to learn a whole new set of talking points and rationales for Obama deciding on May 31st, 2008 that he no longer supports Trinity and their insane ideologies.
The occasion arises, once again, on yet another issue where they have to counter their previously stated words and defenses of Obama with a whole set of brand new words and defenses of Obama.
While much has been made about McCain simply gaining the endorsement of a minister who would come to have made some controversial statements - though never having a close relationship with him - at least he doesn't have to sever a two-decades marriage in the deal.
Twenty years of Obama counting himself amongst their numbers and garnering all of the perks and associations he could amass during his rise in politics - two decades of influence, support and indoctrination from that fringe house of leftwing idealism.
How telling is it, regarding Senator Obama and that organization, that someone who is running for high office actually has to LEAVE and DISTANCE THEMSELVES from their church in order to have a chance to attain that high office? This, as opposed to highlighting and showing pride in their church affiliation as a positive character trait for their run?
It's a new kind of politics, alright!
