Right now in America, there seems to be a renewed focus on the threats facing us in this world today. We are receiving almost daily reminders right now, letting us know just how much of a dangerous world we truly do live in.
Whether it is a clearly awaking bear from Russia defying the rest of the world in its emboldened moves into Western Europe, Iran and its President Ahmadinejad grandstanding in the Persian Gulf, Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez now apparently training terrorists in our very own hemisphere... we are clearly at a pivotal time where it is as vital as ever that we ensure our military strength.
With that said, let us take a moment to reflect upon these words from the Democratic Party's candidate for president, Barack Obama...
Really, if you didn't know better you'd almost expect this to have been voiced over by some of those "evil Republican, Karl Rove-type phantoms"; you know the ones that are out there engaging in those vast, rightwing conspiracies. But, nope... it's true. At one of the most pivotal times in our nation's history, Obama seems to want nothing less than a major dismantling of the United State's military dominance over the bad guys.
When you consider the fact that Obama, seemingly, has an imbedded belief that it is America that is so often portraying 'the bad guys' on the world stage, I guess that sort of makes sense.
