It's getting pretty bad for Thompson up in New Hampshire. Check out the latest poll from up that way, via CNN:

Former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson has skidded into sixth place in a CNN/WMUR poll of likely Republican voters in New Hampshire, edged out by ex-Libertarian and anti-war Rep. Ron Paul and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee.

Finally... After dancing around the edge of being a candidate, then finally getting into the ring, we were finally able to see Thompson on stage w/the rest of the guys. For my part, I'll have to say I wasn't that impressed, especially considering he's a guy that's supposed to be used to the camera...but then again, maybe that's only when he has a script.

It seems Fred Thompson has received enough backlash about his delays on getting into the ring that he's having a conference call today with his supporters to tell them that he's going to officially announce on Thursday, September 6th - one day AFTER the next scheduled GOP debate. (Wayta' duck another debate there Fred). I'm sure the folks in New Hampshire (see post below) will be pleased.

What's up with Fred? That's what a lot of people (from the press, to pundits, to supporters) are wondering. Over the weekend they forced out yet another staffer from the "non"-campaign and, according to the latest reports, seem to be backing off the earlier indication of being "in" in time to participate in the next debate, which would be September 5th.  read more »
