Finally... After dancing around the edge of being a candidate, then finally getting into the ring, we were finally able to see Thompson on stage w/the rest of the guys. For my part, I'll have to say I wasn't that impressed, especially considering he's a guy that's supposed to be used to the camera...but then again, maybe that's only when he has a script.

There's a special election on deck in Massachusett's 5th district, and the Repubican is actually within shouting distance. Use the widgett at the top of the page and give a helping hand to a Republican in a deep blue state.

There's a new poll out of Michigan Republicans and, like New Hampshire and Iowa, it has Romney out to a big lead among GOP primary voters. From the Free Press:
WASHINGTON -- Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has surged to become the clear GOP front-runner in Michigan, his native state, a new poll shows.
It seems Fred Thompson has received enough backlash about his delays on getting into the ring that he's having a conference call today with his supporters to tell them that he's going to officially announce on Thursday, September 6th - one day AFTER the next scheduled GOP debate. (Wayta' duck another debate there Fred). I'm sure the folks in New Hampshire (see post below) will be pleased.
