Doing his best impersonation of Sergeant Schultz, Charlie Gibson did a radio interview for WLS AM in Chicago and just blew everyone away with the fountain of knowledge that you would expect a network news anchor to have about one of the biggest stories in the country.

Don: Ok here’s my question, Senate bill yesterday passes cutting off funds to this group called ACORN. Now we got the…we got that bill passing, we got the embarrassing video of ACORN staff giving tax advice on how to set up a brothel with 13 year old hookers. It has everything you could want corruption and sleazy action at tax funded organizations that’s got government ties. But nobody’s covering that story why?

Charlie Gibson: (laugh) I don’t even know about it. Uh, so you got me at a loss, I don’t know. Uh, uh, but, but My goodness if it’s got everything including sleaziness in it we should talk about it this morning.

Roma: This is the American way…

Charlie Gibson: Well maybe, maybe that’s one you just leave to the cables.

Roma: Well I think that this is a huge issue because there’s so much funding that goes into this organization and it’s a multi…

Charlie Gibson: Well, I know we’ve done some stories about ACORN before but uh, uh this one I don’t know about.

So what's all the fuss about ACORN, and why should it matter to anyone? Well, if you're an American citizen, and you take citizenship seriously, it matters because our electoral process is being compromised.

As recent press reports have shown, ACORN (the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now) has been hard at work registering voters in all of the key battleground states for the upcoming election. This just keeps getting better. The St. Pete Times reports today that Mickey Mouse turned in a registration form in Florida...courtesy of the ACORN voter registration drive.

Orange County elections officials rejected his application, which was stamped with the logo of the nonprofit group ACORN. ...

This whole ACORN thing just keeps getting better. And the Republicans are finally getting them in the public's sites. McCain even spoke out about it today (after being asked though) at a town hall/rally.

Can someone please answer this question for me? How can Barack Hussein Obama be qualified to serve as Commander-in-Chief of the US Armed Forces when he probably cannot receive a security clearance? He has not been able or has been unwilling to produce a valid birth certificate proving that he is a US citizen. He has associated himself with a domestic terrorist (Bill Ayers) who was a member of the Weather Underground, a con man (Tony Rezko) convicted of fraud and bribery, anti-American preachers (Jeremiah Wright and Michael Pflager), and a group under investigation for voter fraud (ACORN).  read more »
