Barack Obama
The Ten Commandments of Obama
...more "change"
They say that all the best humor is humorous because it is based in truth and what people tend to think instinctively.
Over the course of the past year and a half, we've all had time to observe "The One" and pay attention to his attitude and, at least, what seems to be his principles and beliefs, and draw some conclusions.
With that in mind, here's a look at what one can imagine as The One's view of the Ten Commandments, if he were updating them for us today.
Via the Patriot Update:
I. Thou shalt have no God in America, except for me. For we are no longer a Christian nation and, after all, I am the chosen One. (And like God, I do not have a birth certificate.) SOURCE
II. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, unless it is my face carved on Mt. Rushmore. SOURCE
III. Thou shalt not utter my middle name in vain (or in public). Only I can say Barack Hussein Obama. SOURCE
IV. Remember tax day, April 15th, to keep it holy. SOURCE
Obama proposes cuts in Medicare - no howls of protest
...only crickets on the left
I came across this article in the Wall Street Journal about Obama's Congressional Budget Office Director, Peter Orszag, and how he's basically becoming one of the key point men to help "sell" Obamacare, since everyone (including many Democrats) wants to know where the money is coming from.
Understandable enough. But that wasn't what was interesting.
What jumped out at me was this sentence:
...he sent a letter to Capitol Hill detailing a proposal he had been more quietly pitching for weeks -- creating a new agency with power to cut spending and implement changes in Medicare, the giant health program for the elderly. He also attached proposed legislative language. It was the most specific that the White House, which has tried to articulate principles and leave details to lawmakers, has been on any aspect of the legislation.
OK, now how many of you out there can just imagine the howls of protest we would be hearing from Democrats if something like this had been proposed by the Bush administration - or any Republican.
"They're cutting Medicare! They're cutting Medicare!", they would scream. We wouldn't be able to have rational conversations about anything else. AARP would be staging protest in front of lawmakers' offices. The evening news would be leading off with stories about how proposed Republican cuts to Medicare would kill old people. We'd be treated to the "personal" stories of someone being forced to choose between pills and food, etc., etc.. read more »
Pentagon may ban smoking in the military
...an example of the nanny-state to come
The Obama version of the military is kicking around the idea of banning smoking by all US military personell. As you can guess, their rationale is financial...as in any health costs that taxpayers bear as a result of smoking in the military.
It also serves as a perfect example of things to come, if Obamacare becomes a reality.
Via USA Today:
Pentagon health experts are urging Defense Secretary Robert Gates to ban the use of tobacco by troops and end its sale on military property, a change that could dramatically alter a culture intertwined with smoking.
Jack Smith, head of the Pentagon’s office of clinical and program policy, says he will recommend that Gates adopt proposals by a federal study that cites rising tobacco use and higher costs for the Pentagon and Department of Veterans Affairs as reasons for the ban.
The study by the Institute of Medicine, requested by the VA and Pentagon, calls for a phased-in ban over a period of years, perhaps up to 20. “We’ll certainly be taking that recommendation forward,” Smith says. ...
Now think about that same story in the light of Obama-care. How hard is it for you to imagine that same story, with just a few words changed around, reporting on a statement by somene in the leadership of a nationalized health care system about the idea of banning smoking nationwide because it costs taxpayers money...since they would then be paying the freight for a nationalized health system. read more »
That Will Never Happen In America
What if I had told you in October 2008, before the last presidential election, that before Barack Obama’s first 100 days in office, the federal government would be in control of both the mortgage and the banking industries? That 19 of America’s largest banks would be forced to undergo “stress tests” by the federal government which would determine that they were “insufficiently capitalized” so they must be supervised by the government? Would you have said, “C’mon, that will never happen in America”?
What if I had told you that within Barack Obama’s first 100 days in office the federal government would be the largest shareholder in the US Big Three automakers – Ford, GM, and Chrysler? That the government would kick out the CEO’s of these companies and appoint hand-picked executives with zero experience in the auto industry and that executive compensation would be determined not by a Board of Directors but by the government? Would you have said, “C’mon, that will never happen in America”?
What if I had told you that Barack Obama would appoint 21 “Czars”, without congressional approval, accountable only to him – not to the voters – who would have control over a wide range of US policy decisions? That there would be a Stimulus Accountability Czar, an Urban Czar, a Compensation Czar, an Iran Czar, an Auto Industry Czar, a Cyber Security Czar, an Energy Czar, a Bank Bailout Czar, and more than a dozen other government bureaucrats with unchecked regulatory powers over US domestic and foreign policy? Would you have said, “C’mon, that will never happen in America”? read more »
America... Meet The Barack Obama Voting Demographic
Only 2% of Obama voters score perfect or near perfect on basic test about the campaign
Zogby has released the results from a brand new survey which gives us all a very disturbing insight into the mental capacity of the typical Barack Obama supporter.
The 12-question survey was given to 512 Obama voters, asking them very simple questions regarding the presidential campaign, the nominees, the news, and the scandals which surfaced during the run for the White House.
UTICA, New York -- Just 2% of voters who supported Barack Obama on Election Day obtained perfect or near-perfect scores on a post election test which gauged their knowledge of statements and scandals associated with the presidential tickets during the campaign, a new Zogby International telephone poll shows. Only 54% of Obama voters were able to answer at least half or more of the questions correctly...
The survey and polling tally was conducted by Zogby on behalf of John Ziegler for his project, HowObamaGotElected.com. For a preview of his documentary that is soon to be released, see the Youtube Video below:
