Will Obama and the media throw ACORN under the bus?
As the most recent scandal surrounding ACORN grows, it begs the question of “will they or won’t they?” As in, will Barack Obama and the mainstream media decide that it’s in their best interest to “throw ACORN under the bus”?
Things haven’t been going so well for either of them lately, and the ACORN scandal presents them with an opportunity to try and gain a little credibility.
The “mainstream” media continues to take a beating with steadily declining readers and viewers, and many media companies are in (or on the verge of) bankruptcy all over the country.
They have allowed themselves to become so invested in certain groups and politicians that they have forgotten their jobs – that thing they are supposed to do to attract readers and viewers and earn money – and now they are going down the tubes.
Obama’s in a similar situation. After taking office in what seemed like a coronation, accompanied by high public approval ratings, he has spent much of his time pushing policies that many who supported him have found to have little resemblance to the “hope and change” they thought they voted for. As a result, his numbers have been heading south. Fast. read more »
Hannah Giles has a defense from ACORN fund; help her out.
donate today
As you probably know by now, ACORN is suing the folks reponsible for getting video evidence of their pervasive corruption. That includes the video's producer and "pimp" James O'Keafe, the "prostitute" Hannah Giles, and the webiste BigGovernment.com.
Well now Hannah Giles' supporters have set up a legal defense fund for her - and she needs you help.
Since ACORN already has some of your tax money it can use to go after the conservatives that helped bring it down, it's only right that the people that helped make this possible get some of our support too.

ACORN used government money to fund overtly partisan groups

It just keeps getting deeper:
From the Washington Post:
Documents released by a Senate Republican on Thursday show that leaders of the ACORN community organizing network transferred several million dollars in charitable and government money meant for the poor to arms of the group that have political and sometimes profit-making missions.
ACORN's tax-exempt groups and allied organizations, long a target of conservative ire, used more than half their charitable and public money in 2006 to pay other ACORN affiliates, according to an analysis by the tax staff of Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa).
Which begs the question: "where's the IRS investigation?"
ACORN Update: Congress reacts, but more to be done
keep up the pressure
The latest in the continuing sorry saga that is ACORN...
It takes a video
Newt Gingrich makes the following observation in his column today:
"Before yesterday's historic vote, no fewer than seven amendments that would have prohibited or conditioned the receipt of federal funds by ACORN were defeated by the majority Democrats in the House in the past year. In one case, House Judiciary Chairman John Conyers, D-Mich., said that "the powers that be" in the Democratic-controlled House had put a stop to an investigation of the group."
What a difference a few videos can make...
More House vote analysis from Michael Barone:
"The House’s 345-75 vote to defund ACORN is indeed, as my Examiner colleague Byron York put it, extraordinary. Democrats voted 172-75 to defund ACORN; Republicans voted 173-0 to do so. This would not have occurred but for http://biggovernment.com/ the Big Government videos of ACORN employees encouraging tax evasion and prostitution. "Mainstream media" studiously ignored this big, big story, because it put Obama's political allies in ACORN in a bad light--such an egregious bit of biased coverage that it aroused derision and contempt from Jon Stewart on The Daily Show. But "mainstream media" couldn't cover up this scandal, as much as it wanted to..." read more »
House relents and votes to defund ACORN
It looks like video footage from FIVE different ACORN offices of employees offering advise on how to get a loan to set up a brothel, or ship underage girls into the country to be prostitutes was too much. (I suppose four examples was one thing, but five...)
Via the AP:
WASHINGTON (AP) – The House has voted to deny all federal funding for ACORN, the community organizing group that has been caught up in several scandals. The House action came several days after the Senate took a similar vote to block the Housing and Urban Development Department from giving grants to ACORN.
Odds that the ban is total by the time it reaches Obama's desk?
NEW: Fifth ACORN video - San Diego version
the hits just keep comin'
Another day, another video of corrupt ACORN employees willingly offering advise and assistance in setting up a local brothel.
In this case, it gets even better. The friendly ACORN worker offers advise on how best to import underage illegal aliens as prostitutes. (He knows someone that can help...)
In light of the daily drum-beat, (with more on the way) some folks in the mainstream media are finally starting to pay attention.

The ACORN Guide to Do-it-Yourself Pimpin'
or "How to Start a Brothel in Ten Easy Steps!"
Given all of the incredibly helpful advise the good folks at ACORN were so happy to provide a budding young pimp and prostitute, (see videos here) it makes sense to take this useful information and condense it down into a simple, easy to follow set of tips and guidelines that might benefit others looking to start a career in the flesh trade.
With that in mind, we give you "The ACORN Guide to Do-it-Yourself Pimpin", (or "How to Start a Brothel in Ten Easy Steps"):
Step 1: Visit your friendly neighborhood ACORN office
Step: 2: Explain that you're a wannabe pimp, your girlfriend is a hooker and you want to start a brothel.
Step 3: Fraudulently fill out loan applications declaring fake profession, such as "performance artist" or "consultant". (Remember, "Honesty isn't going to get you a house")
Step 4: Buy a house (preferably with a good sized backyard)
Step 5: Identify a sufficient number of underage El Salvadoran girls to staff your brothel, (somewhere in the 12 to 15 year range is about right). Take steps to make sure they know to "keep quiet".
Step 6: Find out how many of the girls you can list as dependents on your tax forms. And make sure you get that child tax credit.
Step 7: Declare a percentage of your cash revenue as income for tax purposes to keep it looking legit. read more »
Liberals now accuse us of being terrorists
That is correct, we are now the terrorists; that is according to the far left African-American wing of the Democratic Party.
I am, of course, referring to this absolutely asinine rant here. I would quote that bunch of nonsensical prattle on this blog and respond to it directly; but I am afraid that my emotions would get the best of me and I would say something that I might regret later. Leave it to the idiotic Socialist Liberal Democrats, to turn a fact finding mission, about an admitted Communist, who said everything and I do mean everything; under the damn sun about white people into a "White vs Black" witch hunt; starring of course; Glenn Beck.
The truth is folks, this had nothing to do with "White vs Black" and everything to do with Right vs Wrong. In fact, here is Glenn Back's Statement about Van Jones's ouster:
The American people stood up and demanded answers. Instead of providing them, the Administration had Jones resign under cover of darkness. I continue to be amazed by the power of everyday Americans to initiate change in our government through honest questioning, and judging by the other radicals in the administration, I expect that questioning to continue for the foreseeable future.
