Outpost advertising

This is an Oupost Profit Center timeout...

Some of you have noticed that some ads for free Obama stickers have started popping up on the site.  For those of you familiar with Google ads, you know that's completely automated based on content.  Meaning, we have Google ads on the site, and the ads that actually get served up each time you load the page are based on the content of that page...meaning if Barry O' is the subject, you might get such an ad - or maybe a McCain ad.  Who knows.

The larger point is, click the ads.  Those guys pay money every time you do.

Now back to our regulary scheduled programming...

Miller Beer funding a gay parade in San Francisco?

Is it just me, or does the following seem a little out of phase for an outfit that makes its money off of a high-testosterone image?

SAN FRANCISCO, September 25, 2007 (LifeSiteNews.com) - The Folsom Street Fair, a gay parade which has for years included full nudity and sex acts on public streets is set to take place again this year on September 30 with city approval,  partial public funding and sponsorship by Miller Brewing Company.  This year several Christian and pro-family groups have called for public scrutiny into the event as the ad for the event is a mockery of Christ's Last Supper.

The ad portrays Christ and His disciples as half-naked homosexual sadomasochists with the bread and wine representing Christ's broken body and blood replaced with sadomasochistic sex toys.

Again, given the type of "all-American, good ol' boys havin' fun", heterosexual, sports-centric kind of image that brewers constantly hype with their advertising, it would seem like the last thing they would want is for that target audience to associate them with anti-Christian ads and homosexuals.  Given how much they spend to market a product and protect its brand identification, this looks like someone wasn't watching who was passing out checks, or they've decided to change their image - drastically.

To find out the answer, or just complain and tell them to stop this sort of thing, you can contact Miller spokesman Julian Green at green.julian.mbco.com.

Gender neutral bathrooms in Vermont

More silly-ness from the world of the "gay rights" agenda:

The University of Vermont's big new student center doesn't just have women's bathrooms and men's bathrooms.

It also has gender-neutral bathrooms, a feature added to accommodate transgendered people, as well as those with some disabilities. The four single bathrooms in the new Dudley H. Davis Center — each with a toilet, sink, shower and lockable door — cost about $2,500 a piece to build. Their wall signs identify each as "gender neutral restroom."

"It's about inclusivity and accessibility and the importance of meeting all people's needs, not just a few," said Annie Stevens, assistant vice president for student and campus life.

"Incusivity"?  The last time I checked, "male" and "female" includes all the human beings on the planet.  And they're not the only ones engaged in this idiocy:

At least 17 colleges and universities have included gender-neutral bathrooms in their new construction or in retrofitting residence halls, said Stephanie Gordon, director of educational programs at the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators.

"A multi-use bathroom doesn't necessarily feel safe to transgendered students, because they have concerns about how their gender would be read by others," said Dot Brauer, director of the school's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning and Ally Services.

You don't say.

A woman who identifies as a man, for example, may not feel welcome in a women's rest room. Transgendered people have been the target of verbal and physical abuse in rest rooms and been arrested, or suspected of lewd conduct, according to Mara Keisling, executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality.

"There are students whose safety and comfort is comprised," Brauer said.

Kelly, a 19-year-old transgendered UVM student who did want her last name published, said she's been made to feel "very uncomfortable" in rest rooms.

Again, you don't say.

The way I see it, we're headed to a world with bath rooms for straight males, females, gay males, gay females, "trans-genered" males and females...and then another set for the thoroughly confused.  Which will leave little actual space for classrooms at these colleges...which, considering what they're being taught, might not be such a bad thing.

As a side note, I can just imagine the shrill cries of discrimination if, for instance, some institution had set up such restrooms for the wierdos of the "transgender" set if some straight folks had demanded it.

NAACP wants quick rehab for Vick

Well, you knew it wouldn't be long...

ATLANTA (AP) — An NAACP leader said Michael Vick should be allowed to return to the NFL, preferably the Atlanta Falcons, after serving his sentence for his role in a dogfighting operation.
"As a society, we should aid in his rehabilitation and welcome a new Michael Vick back into the community without a permanent loss of his career in football," said R.L. White, president of the NAACP's Atlanta chapter. "We further ask the NFL, Falcons, and the sponsors not to permanently ban Mr. Vick from his ability to bring hours of enjoyment to fans all over this country."...
"Hours of enjoyment"??  Sounds like this guy hasn't had Vick as a fantasy football quarterback before.  Or maybe he was talking about hours of enjoyment of dog-fighting.  Or maybe he was just holding out hope that Vick become a major donor to the NAACP in the future...
On Monday, Vick said through a lawyer that he will plead guilty to a federal charge of conspiracy to travel in interstate commerce in aid of unlawful activities and conspiracy to sponsor a dog in an animal fighting venture.

Three Vick associates have pleaded guilty to the conspiracy charge and say Vick provided nearly all the gambling and operating funds for the "Bad Newz Kennels" dogfighting enterprise. Two of them also said Vick participated in executing at least eight underperforming dogs, raising the possibility of the animal cruelty charges.

But the NAACP hasn't let those charges stop them from sticking up for this sicko just because of the color of his skin...

Last month, state and local leaders of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People urged the public not to rush to judgment in the Vick case. The civil rights organization said animal rights groups, talk radio and the news media were vilifying the embattled athlete, and that his team and corporate sponsors were prematurely punishing Vick. ...

Oh, so they never rush to judgement.  My bad.  The NAACP's White goes on to try and set the record straight...

White said he regretted that the plea deal will mean all the facts of the case might never be known.

"Some have said things to save their own necks," White said. "Michael Vick has received more negative press than if he had killed a human being."

White said he does not support dogfighting and that he considers it as bad as hunting.

"His crime is, it was a dog," White said.

So now he's questioning the statements of witnesses?  And no, it wasn't just "a dog"...it was LOTS of dogs...and not just fighting them, but killing them...not to mention running an interstate gambling operation centered around them, etc., etc...  And if he's worked up about things like this receiving more negative attention than if a human-being had been killed, well, that's what happens when you help promote a society (and politicians) that devalues human life.

As for Vick, he's an idiot and deserves what's about to happen.  He should get jail time...he should never get another sponsor deal...he should have to sit out a season or two AFTER getting out of the joint, and the NFL should look into the gambling thing and see if there's reason to ban him all-together.

This day in history

Clinton White House history that is.  From World Net Daily:

WASHINGTON -- A consultant hired last year to beef up security for the White House's computer network found massive pornographic video files passing through the system's Internet firewall, WorldNetDaily has learned.

Some of the downloaded files were traced back to West Wing officials as recently as the beginning of last year, during the height of the impeachment crisis, say sources who were involved in replacing the firewall system as part of Y2K security upgrades.

The real-time video files -- which came from hard-core porn sites featuring homosexual, farm-animal and teen sex acts -- were so large in byte volume that they accounted for most of the traffic coming into the firewall, sources told WorldNetDaily. ...

Investigators, including White House Security Officer Charles Easley, looked at a number of variables to separate the habitual from the accidental Web-porn surfers. They scanned firewall logs over several weeks so they could see the repeat offenders. They also zeroed in on the large-byte files.

What they found was shocking.

"There were some significant names. I can say, yes, West Wing," said one White House source familiar with the investigation. "There were women too."

Many of the offenders also officed out of the Old Executive Office Building, including presidential personnel, sources say. One was in national security.

Of course none of this was surprising, given who was in the Oval Office at the time...
