TSA
Absolute Outrage!
I am so angry and disgusted with the TSA’s depredations against the citizens of this country, it’s going to be very difficult to articulate without going into expletives.
We’re finding the words revolt and rebellion in our lexicon far more frequently than I’ve ever heard them used before… excepting perhaps in San Francisco’s looney-tune Haight-Ashbury hay-days, and around ‘underground’ (albeit highly promoted) meetings of the SDS (Students for a Democratic Society, a soviet-sponsored communist front group) around my own and other college campuses during the 60s and 70s, from which sprang, amongst others, those sterling individuals Bernadine Dorn, Bill Ayers and the other murderers of the Weather Underground.
The difference between then and now is that the very same nuts who had little or no understanding of the forces driving them then are the same ones who are destroying our country and our livelihoods now. They can be seen in and around major colleges and universities to this day. The usual liberal (communist) pinched faces, they’re easy to spot, just look for the gray-haired, pony-tailed and Birkenstocked creeps who would dictate to you and I how we should live. Very few of these people has ever had the experience of running anything except their mouths… which seem to be early experimentation on perpetual motion. read more »
Fire the TSA NOW
Why continue to employ & trust a failed bureaucracy
On Sept 11, 2001 we are all aware that a national tragedy occurred. I don't need to remind you of the horrific attacks that we endured that day at the hand of Arab male, Islamic extremists. Apparently there is a great but forgotten truth that needs to be pointed out. That day the government failed & failed miserably to protect the country. They failed to protect the airlines, the passengers, those that worked in the Pentagon and the World Trade Center, the emergency responders in NYC, and so many others.
In the days, weeks, and months after these attacks the govt. decided to resell their ability to protect airline passengers by creating the TSA. In a failure to heed the warning of President FDR (possibly the best thing he ever said or did) the nation was overcome with fear and willingly bought the govts. Product to protect us and provide security even though the wise among us and those with common sense pointed to Israel’s El Al and said that’s what we should do.
Since the TSA took over airport security (actually airports are not at all secure since these tactics are to secure planes & not the actual airport unlike Israeli tactics) shortly after 9/11/01 via the Aviation & Transportation Security Act of Nov. 19, 2001 several breaches have been made. The shoe bomber and the underwear bomber quickly come to mind. Well they originated from airports overseas you say? Sure they did and I point you to http://www.tsa.gov/approach/harmonization.shtm where the TSA claims “Each day, hundreds of flights depart foreign countries en route to the United States. So while securing U.S. aviation security is critically important, equally important for TSA is working with international partners to secure the global transportation network.” Also the site says the TSA ensures that foreign airports comply with TSA standards. REALLY?
Since the TSA has failed at least twice in less than 10 years then why should we continue to allow them to do what they do best, intrude on our privacy & liberty the whole while not getting the job done? It was passengers on those flights that I mentioned above that secured the planes and detained the would be bombers. Passengers, every day Americans, did a better job than the TSA. That proof alone determines that capitalism should prevail and big govt. should be done away with when it comes to airline security.
Private contractors would hand’s down do a better job at security and wouldn’t have to face the political ramifications of political correctness when it comes to racial profiling. All the airlines should collectively contract with security firms, not Barney Fife or Acme Security, to secure their services. They offer a service that Americans want and need in many cases and it is their responsibility to make it safe. Now as long as Americans are willing to put up with the TSA then airlines won’t do this. As long as Americans are willing to fly unsafe then airlines won’t do this. When Americans put their feet down and say no to the TSA and demand that the govt. get out of the airline security business & then demand that airlines secure their product then you will see great change and safety take place.
The TSA is not the answer, never has been, and the newly elected Congress MUST put a stop to this intrusive agency. I am glad that the timing of these enhanced pat downs and body scanners is following so closely on the heals of the midterm elections. People are attentive and aware but this time libs & conservatives alike are up in arms.
