Anti-McCain Political Ad Reaches New Low

A new ad is beginning to air from a liberal 527 organization, with the intent of damaging the John McCain campaign.

My mouth fell to the floor when I caught this a short while ago, as I flipped from Fox News to MSNBC a bit during the 7 O'clock programming... I know, my own fault there.

This is obviously one of the most despicable pieces of political advertising to which the American public has ever born witness.

Talk about the potential for counter-productive blow-back!

I know there are a lot of die-hard, staunch conservatives that probably wouldn't have considered themselves very likely to get behind John McCain with any degree of fervor 8 months ago... I can actually count myself, pretty much, as one of them in that class.

But, between some of his policy shifts to the right in recent months, his decision to place Governor Sarah Palin on the ticket, and this sort of behavior we have seen from the most vile, abhorant depths of the American left, it is hard NOT to get lock-step behind the man and fight with him tooth-and-nail!

***

Update: Bill O'Reilly mentioned the ad on his program and states that both Fox News and CNN turned down the ad, refusing to air it on their networks.

Further, part of the team behind the ad is James H. Dean, DNC Chairman Howard Dean's brother.

Hmmm... an independent, 527 organization, having no coordination with the Obama campaign or the Democratic Party in producing and airing such political advertisements... Yeah.

Sarah Palin on Linked-in

First off, for those of you that don't know, Linked-in is an online networking site for professionals. Sort of like Facebook for business, I suppose. I've had a profile on there for about a year now. My profile is here.

I just received a note this morning from one of the people in my Linked-in network pointing out that Sarah Palin now has a Linked-in profile as well, which is impressive from a campaign perspective. Just about every campaign now has a Facebook and My Space profile...but Linked-in is something I haven't really seen much of among candidates so far, so this tells me someone's thinking straight over at campaign headquarters.

Here profile is here. It states in part:

"My fellow Americans, come join our cause. Join our cause and help our country to elect a great man the next president of the United States. And I thank you, and I -- God bless you, I say, and God bless America. Thank you."

Sarah Palin’s Specialties:

Attacking "business as usual," Oil Companies, Good Old Boy Networks, Government waste, Earmarks, and Pork Barrels. Strong experience within the Executive Branch of Government.

With each new campaign season, campaigns are finding it more and more useful (and necessary) to participate in our increasingly "networked" world...and that means making themselves available where the voters are.

Stop Amnesty campaign

As part of the next step in the evolution of the Conservative Outpost, we're launching the first of what will soon be many Internet based campaigns from within our site. The goal is to eventually have a section of our site where any registered user can go and create his or her own campaign, add petitions, fax messages, e-postcards, discussion groups, share files, etc.. In other words, be more effective. More on that in the future.

For now, the first such effort is our own "Stop Amnesty" campaign.

Those familiar with this site know how we feel about the amnesty issue. And you also probably know that the proponents of amnesty seem to never sleep... they just wait for us to go to sleep. They're there, in Congress, still working to pass some form of amnesty for illegal aliens. They've attempted to give tax rebates to illegals. They balk at building an actual border fence, focusing instead on a "virtual fence" - which we now find out is behind schedule too!

Our elected officials still haven’t gotten the message that the American public DOES NOT want amnesty for illegal aliens in any way, shape or form.

Don't let them get away with it! Sign the petition today and let your member of Congress know how you feel.

Even today, 14 members of Congress are suing the government to STOP building of the border fence alltogether - claiming that construction of it would violate the Clear Air Act!

These people have to be sent a message that the American people are fed up. Add your name to the petition today and then fax your members of Congress. A copy of the petition and signatures will be forwarded to Congress.

Then help us spread the word and forward a link to this website on to others!
