The people have forgotten why the Founders made the Constitution; to limit the powers of the federal government. So they do not understand that the Democratic-disguised Socialists who have now pirated the federal government do not have the constitutional authority to do what they are doing.
Take Obama's constitutionally unauthorized stimulus bill, for example. Given that the Founder's made the 10th Amendment to reserve the lion's share of government power to serve the people to the states, not the Oval Office and Congress, Chief Justice Marshall had established the following case precedent which appropriately limits the power of the feds to lay taxes.
"Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States." --Chief Justice Marshall, GIBBONS V. OGDEN (1824)
So Obama's ill-conceived stimulus package can be thought of as the federal government returning to the states money that it had stolen from the states anyway.
And the reason that we've gotten ourselves into this mess is the following, in my opinion. Regardless that the states, not the federal government, are the ultimate seat of authority in the good old USA, the Constitution-ignoring MSM has done the following. The MSM has wrongly brainwashed the constitutionally ignorant people into thinking that the Oval Office is a throne room. And why not? After all, it seems that people's best response to the "king" partying their hard-earned tax dollars away is to "complain" about it as if doing so was their idea of the pursuit of happiness.
The bottom line is that citizens can end this socialist nightmare at any time by doing the following. Citizens can work with their state lawmakers to repeal the 16th Amendment, the amendment that gives the feds the power to tax citizens directly. The problem with that amendment is that it has made it too easy for the corrupt federal government to lay constitutionally unauthorized taxes.

.. the federal government is to the financials which are having to deal with them right now.
Why should "'ABC' Bank" have any trust in the government actually being a good, trustworthy partner in this arrangement that will follow through with any plan they propose to them, when we saw last week what our "leadership" feels about legal and binding contracts?
It's bad enough when the Congress takes on this belief that they can continue to legislate their way through this financial mess... but then when they throw even further punitive regulation on top of THAT retroactively???
What we are witnessing before our very eyes is nothing short of our government making moves to sink their talons as much into private banking as they possibly can.... and things are going just so splendidly, are they not?

Again, the 16th Amendment as to go!
Congress proved just last week how much of an unsure bet...
